Many people want to experience a different side of Australia when they travel. Many people do this by enjoying the smaller towns or the open spaces that Australia has to offer without much thought about where they are going. However, in order to have a truly Australian vacation without having to leave all of the amenities that travelers are used to behind, Airlie Beach is a must have.

Airlie Beach proper is the area of Airlie in which all of the accommodations are still geared towards the backpacker who is off to enjoy the Whitsunday Islands. However, to the west there are more discovery pockets for tourists that offer wonderful insight into the area. Because of the recent boom in popularity, Airlie is very commercialized and even the Airport shows this.

While it may not be the cheapest way to get to Airlie Beach, it is by far the most convenient in Australia. It is still a quaint airport compared to what many people think of when they are flying to a new destination. There is an installation that allows you to purchase a bus ticket into Airlie from the driver and, only after everyone has chosen their method of transport, the bus will leave. The other option is to catch a taxi into the town.

Both of these options remain attainable and cost the same and offer the same front door service, it just depends on where you’re going and how you want to get there. If you planned ahead, you will already have a bus or other transportation planned, but it just isn’t the same as finding your way once you’ve arrived.

If you are planning to visit the Airlie Beach one hotel that I highly recommend is the Arlie Beach Hotel. It is perfect because of not only the location but the friendly staff that they have working at the hotel. My husband and I just took a vacation there and that is the place we stayed for three nights.

It has three restaurants that you can pick from and all three offer a variety of food. The restaurant that my husband and I enjoyed the most was Mangrove Jacks because of the pizza that they have but they do offer other food if you’re not in the mood for pasta or pizza. The room that we stayed in had plenty of space and was big enough for the both of us so we didn’t feel squeezed in the room. The bathroom also looked spacious and modern. You can tell right away that they work hard on making sure that everything is kept up to date. The air conditioner worked perfect of course which is great because one time we took a vacation at another hotel and the air unit broke which caused us to end the trip early so my husband and I both where every happy that theirs worked.

We had such a great time at the Arlie Beach Hotel that after talking about we decided that when we go back, we’re going to use that same hotel again. Between the friendly staff, and a comfortable bed we don’t have any complaints whatsoever about the hotel and we can’t wait to take another vacation.
