If you were to look down from the clouds onto the Airlie Beach area and the surrounding Whitsunday Islands you would think that you have flown to another world which had not been touched by man and was as fresh as the day that god made it. The area in question is one of great beauty with pristine white sands and clear blue waterways. The tropical rain forests add their bit of green to the backdrop which adds that extra color to the sites.

A haven for fishing, water sports, diving, snorkeling and plenty of other activities that revolve around the water and the beach, you will find that Airlie Beach is a very popular tourist destination which people from all around the world come to see so they can spend time at the famous Whitsunday Islands. There is a surf beach for action and a calm water beach for the kids to play safely in as well as a neat town center that stores everything you need for your holiday. You can hire most of the equipment you need including camping gear so that if you have forgotten anything on the way you won’t need to fear.

Because Airlie Beach is a remote part of the Queensland coast which is partly why it is still in such a great condition, you might like the idea of hiring a car to give you the freedom of driving anywhere you need at any time. Airlie Beach car rental agents can organize a car to be picked up at their depot or from one that is convenient to you.

There is a place in Queensland that is still a bit of a secret to the tourists because it is off the beaten track. Airlie Beach is just north of the Sunshine Coast but is not too close to the main highway that everybody and their dogs drop in. Unless you knew what was there you could easily drive past which would be unfortunate because it is one of the nicest destinations that Queensland has to offer.

The beach at Airlie Beach is a calm water beach protected by the bay and the islands offshore but just around the corner you will find some very exceptional surf beaches where the waves will keep you entertained. There are several hotels that you can stay in as well as some nice back packer accommodation or you can bring your own caravan to stay for a while and enjoy the solitude of the town.

Our family like to catch a bus to Airlie Beach and then rent a car from the Airlie Beach car rental crowd so that we can tour around the local area. It makes good sense to travel cheap so that we can spend our hard earned money on other things that we enjoy rather than just the travel.
